Rivers West District Mobile Playground Program 2018

Another summer of the Mobile Playground Program has come and gone. This is one of our most popular programs that Rivers West District provides to our members. This program focuses on children 5 to 11 with a mandate to bring a day of crafts, sports, songs and play to children in their own community during the summer months. Rivers West District hires 4 Mobile Playground Coordinators to plan and organize the community visits and then to travel to those communities in July and August. Any member community is eligible to book 1 day in July and 1 day in August.

23 different member communities participated in the program with a total of 474 of their children attending the 36 community visitations made by our coordinators which featured the following themes: Disney, Under the Sea, Dinosaur, Outer Space, Olympic and Animals. Our coordinators traveled a total of 9,499 kilometres reaching every area of our vast District.

Rivers West District would like to thank our 2018 Mobile Playground Coordinators and congratulate them on a job well done:
Brynn Murphy, Senior Coordinator
Brooklyn Mamer, Junior Coordinator
Carey Wahobin, Junior Coordinator
Kelsey Peterson, Junior Coordinator

We would also like to thank our staff person in North Battleford, Cynthia Tymoruski, who oversees the hiring and supervises the coordinators throughout the summer.

Lastly, we would like to thank the member communities and volunteers who participated in the program and assisted in providing the children of their community and the District with activities that are so important for the development of happy, healthy and active children:
Borden, Cut Knife, Dodsland, Eatonia, Edam, Elrose, Eston, Hafford, Herschel, Kerrobert, Kindersley, Kyle, Lloydminster, Luseland, Marshall, Milden, North Battleford, North Bend, Paradise Hill, Pierceland, St. Walburg, Waseca and Wilkie.
